Not to say that what I have been learning in classes with books, darkrooms, and critiques from teachers and classmates are useless, but to be able to do commercial photography and personal artistic photography, I sure had so much more to learn. I knew I didn’t want to shoot merchandise for a living as I liked to work with people more than objects. Photographing people can be in the field of fashion or artistic physique. Fortunately for me I liked both. With a background in fine arts and photography, I could see how to pose a model artistically, but for commercial/fashion I have to learn that on my own, and learn fast. Good thing there were more magazine on fashion than there were textbooks on fine art photography.
