Jealous of his own newborn baby

Hiding...in fear of her life

Head-butted as she held her kids

'I Will Kill You!'

Crowded round the bar with my mates, I felt a tap on my shoulder.

It was Jason, 22, a friend I’d known for a couple of years.

My heart skipped. I’d always secretly fancied him.

‘Want to go for a drink – just the two of us?’ he asked me.

A few days later, we met in our local bar.

We hit it off and started dating. And by March 2015, we were official.

He was younger than me but that didn’t matter.

Jason was caring and thoughtful – everything I’d ever wanted.

My daughter Rebecca, then 5, adored him, and he treated her as his own.

Three months into our relationship, I fell pregnant. It was quick, but I was excited.

‘You’ll be a great daddy,’ I told Jason.

He was so protective over me for the whole pregnancy. And he was there by my side when our baby Emma was born in March last year.

When we brought her home, Rebecca loved her baby sister. I thought we’d be the perfect family.

But Jason struggled.

Emma cried constantly.

But where I was worried, Emma’s cries wound up Jason.

‘Just shut her up!’ he’d snap.

When Emma was 3 weeks, I took her to our GP.

She was diagnosed with a milk allergy and doctors gave her a special formula.

Poor baby, I thought. She must have been suffering.

But now she was quieter, Jason started other rows.

‘All your attention’s going on Emma,’ he’d complain.

‘She’s ill,’ I protested. He was jealous of his own baby! I hoped he’d grow up – but, in the meantime, I used all my energy on the girls.

Nasty temper
