Sharper styling, lighter and faster. Emirates Man drives the all-new Audi RS5 in Andorra
Andorra is normally a peaceful little principality in the Pyrenees. But Emirates Man is here making a raucous in Audi’s all-new mid sized coupé, the RS5, on some of the best twisting mountain roads Europe has to offer. And even an unseasonably severe downpour isn’t going to dampen our spirits. Or our spirited driving for that matter…
There is, however, a slight tinge of sadness that the raucous we are making isn’t as loud or as sonorous as the previous generation’s superb and naturally aspirated V8. Displacement has been sacrificed to the gods of fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness and we seem to be missing a couple of cylinders on this RS5. This new twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 cannot even begin to match the aural pleasure of the old 4.2-litre V8 lump, but what it does match exactly is power output.
