HALEAKALA—One of Hawai‘i’s biggest attractions is the stunning 10,000foot Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano. HaleakalƒÅ’s most magnificent feature is the crater itself: 3,000 feet deep, 2.5 miles across and a circumference of 21 miles. nps.gov/ hale/index.htm .

HANA POOLS—The terraced cold springs known as the Hana Pools are Hawai‘i’s greatest natural day spa. A daybreak or sunset dip in this spring-fed body of water is both surreal and relaxing, and you can oftentimes have it all to yourself.
