Have you been missing Japan and one of its many soul-rejuvenating, body-invigorating onsens? Well, you don’t need a plane ticket to do that anymore as there’s an onsen spa right here in Kuala Lumpur.
Located in 163 Retail Park in Mont Kiara, Urban Retreat Onsen Spa is a veritable hideaway in a bustling neighbourhood. The beloved Japanese bath is meticulously replicated in the form of a Hinoki wood tub filled with water infused with bath salts extracted directly from mineral-rich hot springs in Japan. There are three types of salt to choose from, each targeting a specific need such as beauty, healing and calmness.
The private bath is elegantly decked out in fixtures, from the shower taps to the bucket and stool, imported from Japan in order to make the experience as authentic as possible. The water can be calibrated to the temperature of your choice but it is recommended to have 40oC for beginners and 42oC for seasoned bathers.
