The region is a vibrant marketplace which has initiated the genesis of modern retailing in India. Businesses based out of West India have always been well ahead of the curve in manufacturing, trading and retailing invention. Council for Leather Exports(CLE) organised a very vibrant interactive session of members of Western Region with Nidhi Mani Tripathi, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India on current issues and challenges faced by the Indian Leather Sector and Western Region Export Award Ceremony( 2017-18) which was held on 7th March, 2019 in Mumbai.
Over two dozen trophies were presented to regional and national powerhouses across categories. The awards were not only about celebrating excellence and recognizing the talent, endeavors, and achievements of those at the forefront of exports and retailing, leadership excellence, they were also about appreciating new ideas, thoughts, and creativity that move the needle on manufacturing and retailing performance.
The event was graced by P.R. Aqeel Ahmed, Chairman CLE, Sanjay Leekha, Vice-Chairman CLE, Naresh Bhasin, Regional Chairman CLE (Western Region)and R.Selvam, Executive Director, CLE.
