Good health is wealth. Good health is strength. Good health is a resiliency advantage. But it is often very easily neglected. Most diseases are caused by unhealthy lifestyles, poor diet, lack of exercise, and inadequate sleep. For example, if you are working in a high-pressure or troublesome workplace it is very easy to ruin your health. Long hours, weekend work, incessant meetings, frequent coffee, biscuits, fast food, etc., can easily ruin your health. I have often seen and attended countless meetings that would go right through lunch timings. This used to happen quite often, sometimes two or three times a week. In such cases, people would often skip lunch and resort to some fast food or just a cup of coffee and get back to work.
But they don’t realize that the necessary amount of internal health damage would have been initiated, and they will be one step closer to ulcers and other health problems. Losing your health is easy, but regaining it back is a steep uphill task. The key to retaining your health is knowing when and where to stop. Hence you should make a conscious effort to ensure you don’t spoil your health due to work pressures. You may argue that it is easier said than done, but you will agree it is not impossible.
Exercise is an excellent remedy to many stress-related disorders. Good health can make you stress-proof and more resilient to physical and mental diseases. A healthy body gives you better strength to tackle workplace and non-workplace issues. People who exercise, swim or jog have less stress than others and appear more radiant. Exercise can make your mood better, eat better, sleep better and live better. It is like the pleasure of driving a well-tuned and serviced car. You can’t handle life’s pressure, even minor ones, effectively if you are always wheezing, gasping, itching, and generally feeling uncomfortable due to bad health. Regular exercise is one way to detoxify yourself of harmful toxins, anxiety, and disturbing thoughts. Several types of exercises like bicycling, jogging, gyms, swimming, etc., are possible. However, if you do not have access to such facilities you can start with walking or some simple exercises. A regular brisk walk is also a good way to begin.
Internal servicing: External beauty is no proof of internal health. Facial calmness is different from internal turmoil. For example, you may probably be looking great externally, but there could be heaps of things wrong with you internally that may need to be fixed. Similar to servicing a car or a vehicle, your body also needs periodic servicing. In addition to external cosmetics, your body also needs periodic internal servicing.
