This review begins with something you will not usually associate with other similar stories involving low-slung, two-door cars with over 600 hp – boot space. The McLaren GT is designed for long journeys and ultra-fast driving. Yet it can stow more luggage than a Range Rover Evoque.
There are some conditions though – the main “boot” is located above the mid-mounted engine and it is long and shallow. If you love golf, great! It will easily swallow a bag with a full set of clubs. How many supercars do you know can achieve this?
Sure, it’s lacking rear seats, items you will find in some of its rivals, but when it comes to covering long stretches of asphalt at high speed, and in comfort – factors which truly determine the pedigree of a grand tourer – the GT truly shines.
