UPSTAIRS HAS BEEN MIXING WITH DOWNSTAIRS IN REAL LIFE, TOO!
SECRET LOVE LIVES OF DOWNTOWN ABBEY!

Jim Carter's Carson and Imelda Staunton's Lady Maud Bagshaw share some of the funniest scenes in the new sequel Downton Abbey: A New Era - and with almost 40 years of marriage under their belts, it's no wonder they have such easy banter.

Jim, 73, admits to apprehension over working with his wife for the second film, after avoiding collaborating on-screen in the first movie instalment.

"I didn't want her to think I'd be the butler at home!" he jokes.

It's not the first time Jim and Imelda, 66, have worked together.

The couple met in 1982 on a London production of Guys and Dolls, and married a year later.

"We're very fortunate because we still enjoy each other's company," says Imelda. "We get very excited about going away for a couple of days together. It's never, 'Yeah... if you wanna?"

BABY JOY!

As Lady Edith, Laura Carmichael shares little in common with cheeky valet Andy Parker, but in real life, she’s been dating him since 2014!
