The Danish royal family were out in force last week, as they joined Queen Margrethe to celebrate her milestone 50 years on the throne.
To kick off the festivities, Margrethe, her sons Frederik and Joachim, and their wives Mary and Marie, attended Danish Parliament before laying a wreath on the grave of the monarch’s late father, King Frederick IX. Later, Margrethe’s eight grandchildren joined them for a private dinner.
Mary looked every inch the future queen during the celebrations, and it was evident that she has learnt a lot about the role of Queen Consort of Denmark from her mother-in-law.
