Despite its legacy as Australia’s longest-running drama series, Neighbours has faced speculation in recent weeks that it could be getting the boot after almost 37 years on air.
But New Idea hears the show’s executives are working overtime to develop a “rescue mission” for Ramsay Street – and it could see Home and Away royalty, Ada Nicodemou, poached from Summer Bay!
“Nobody wants this show to end – it would be terrible for publicity and leave fans furious,” says a source. “Pressure is really on for production and Network Ten to turn the show around.
“It’s suffered many rating lows, but this time it needs a seismic shake-up ... something to make headlines.
