All Inclusive At Olhuveli
Mums and Tots|Issue 29 - Winter 2018

Located in South Male Atoll, Maldives, 34km from Male, Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort is a 45 speedboat ride away. It is an extra +1 hour from the normal Maldivian time to give better daylight savings at GMT +6.

All Inclusive At Olhuveli

We arrived to the sun setting behind us as we walked down the board walk to reception, looking at shoals of tropical fish along the way. We sat in the sandy Lagoon Bar to check in, feet in the sand, with a glass of iced juice and a cold lemongrass scented flannel.

From the onset it is clear that this a family friendly destination with multiple families, about 50 kids in total during our stay. It was nice not having to tell the kids to be quiet all the time as there were plenty of other little voices shouting and laughing.

Accommodation

The island is only about 1km long so even though our beach villa was at the very end, it was still only a 5 minute walk to the main restaurant.

There are 164 rooms on the island, from basic deluxe rooms to the presidential water suite. We stayed in a deluxe water villa, with small infinity pool, right on the beach. It was magical every morning, opening the curtains to see the waves crashing on the white sandy beach and crabs scuttling around. The bathrooms are all open air and include a standalone bath, rainforest shower and day bed. The kids loved having bubble baths and hearing the birds chirp and squack.
