Two go-getters who broke boundaries and went against all odds to inspire and motivate others
When the production of The Phantom Of The Opera came to town, it brought with it excitement and love for the arts. Instead of just putting a good show, the presenter of the production, Base Entertainment, hosted a charity gala dinner for two causes too: the Malaysian Spinal Injuries Association and Dyslexia Association of Malaysia.
MALAYSIAN SPINAL INJURIES ASSOCIATION (MASIA)
Despite being confined to a wheelchair, positivity radiates through Law King Kew. It is hard to believe that this cheerful lady suffered from spinal cord injury at age 19.
Determined not to let her disabilities get the best of her, she made a vow to live her life to the fullest.
“I was helping my parents in our pepper farm when I had a terrible fall,” she said. “After the incident, the doctor told me I had injured my spinal cord. Even though I could have remained unhappy, I chose to accept my disabilities and continued living my life.”
