As part of its ongoing mission to create a digital device for every eventuality, iFiAudio has developed some interesting solutions built around its decoding platform. The ZEN Stream represents something of a step change because it’s not equipped with any decoding of its own and is designed to turn both its – and anyone else’s – DAC into a network audio player.
To do this, the ZEN Stream is a network streamer fitted to work over conventional UPnP, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, HQ Player, and Roon, with AirPlay supported too. iFi has also expressed its intention to add AirPlay2 and Chromecast support in the future. PCM to 384kHz and DSD256 are supported, as is MQA when used with a compatible device. Connection to a network can be made both wired and wirelessly and the Stream has USB and optical outputs.
