What healthcare providers must do to ensure continuous stream of international patients beyond their catchment zones
Do credentialing and privileging of treating doctors and share it with the consumers.
Attracting patients from distant markets to travel to the hospital for a defined procedure seems interesting, but is one of the most difficult tasks. Conventional methods adopted to acquire the said market are largely through networking. Options are either network with practitioners, clinics or individual non-medical persons acting as facilitators. Sales personnel opt one or all of these channels and count on the numbers. Yes, the numbers do show a growing trend because the market size is huge. But the question one must be asking is that whether you are taking few buckets out of the perennial river and remaining happy or you want to create a continual flowing canal to provide you water whenever you need it.
So what healthcare providers must be doing for ensuring ever increasing international patients, beyond their catchment zone? Everyone does focus on creating awareness physically, print media, electronic media and even digital media. So the question remains when everyone is doing that, how one can one create differential impact and a high recall in minds of consumers and refers to book services with your hospital?
