Get to know musician and actress Zumi Rosow, the inspiration behind Gucci’s latest It bag.
Zumi Rosow was on tour with her band The Black Lips to promote their album Satan’s Graffiti or God’s Art? when she received a phone call from her agency informing her that she would be honoured by Gucci with a bag named after her. “I honestly thought I was dreaming; it was so surreal. I started to scream. My poor boyfriend (guitarist Cole Alexander) was lying on the back seat with me,” she tells BAZAAR. Known in the punk rock milieu as the saxophonist at The Black Lips and duo with Cole Alexander in the band Crush, she also acts in experimental films and designs jewellery. Since becoming the muse for Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele, her unique and off-kilter image has pervaded mainstream media.
