From fantastical headgears at Schiaparelli to Man Ray’s luscious red lips, it was a blast to the Surrealist past this season.
Oscar Wilde once said, “One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art,” and two iconoclasts—Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dalí—come to mind this couture season; a fashion designer and a celebrated artist, both Surrealist icons. Together, they altered the course of art and fashion in the 20th century, and were forces to be reckoned with. is season, Surrealism lives on, especially at the Dalí-inspired set of Schiaparelli Haute Couture Autumn/Winter ’18, where anthropomorphic creatures roamed the grounds of Palais Garnier in dreamlike moments, inspired by the unnerving art movement of the ’30s.
UP IN THE HAIR

And who better than Kaia Gerber to carry out this look with her chiselled cheeks, in a whirlwind of pink feathers?
