GET TO KNOW CAMERON & NEFELI:

HOME TOWNS: Cameron and Nefeli, who has Greek heritage, were both born in Gauteng – Cameron in Pretoria and Nefeli in Johannesburg. They moved to London in October this year after living in Bantry Bay in Cape Town for two years.

CAREERS: Cameron became a South African swimming legend at the 2012 London Olympic Games when he broke the record in the men’s 100m breaststroke event. But he doesn’t spend all his time in the swimming pool. ‘Swimming and travelling can get quite hectic, so I try to spend most of my time with Nefeli. I also study and do investment trading. I love being mentally stimulated when my brain is not focused on swimming.’

Although she has a law background, Nefeli currently works in advertising. ‘I’ve always loved the creative aspect of advertising and how adverts actually work and come to life.’'

LOVE & MARRIAGE HOW DID THEY MEET?

Cam and Nef attended the same high school, but only started hanging out together in 2013, when they became friends. Soon after a kiss from Cameron, the two started dating, and as Nefeli puts it, ‘That was the start of it all.’ They married in July this year in a breathtaking sunset ceremony in Anavyssos in Greece.

WEDDING-DAY HIGHLIGHTS:

Nefeli: ‘Seeing Cameron at the church and knowing that I would be spending the rest of my life with him….’
