Places like Silicon Valley, New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles in the USA are famous for their tech scenes, its common knowledge. However, if you look a little further, you might find other places that are not highlighted as much as they should be. This New Years holidays, just put everything aside and decide to take a trip to one of those hi-tech places that you should go for their sheer awesomeness when it comes to the extent of their urban planning, hi tech infrastructure and use of technology. However, should you give in to wanderlust this year to take a quick holiday, here are some places that you should add to your bucket list that are just as good and even more. So, this New Years holidays, just put everything aside and take a trip to one of those hi-tech places that you should go for their sheer awesomeness when it comes to the extent of their urban planning, hi tech infrastructure and use of technology.

TOKYO, JAPAN

Neon bright display screens (brighter than Times Square), towering Skyscrapers, bustling streets and the newest technology- Tokyo stays true to its name- the city of the future. Easily winning the title for the most hi-tech city of the world, Tokyo is famous for using technology that has not yet even been revealed to the world. You can trust Tokyo to be heading to where all the modern tech is- be it robotics, artificial intelligence, super convenient public transport or the newest Smartphone Technology. Even hi-tech toilets to bullet trains! What more? Tokyo won the bid to be the host city for the 2020 Olympics that raises the bar already with speculations of a futuristic athletes village powered by clean hydrogen power in store. So, go ahead and book those tickets for your New Year trip and let that techie inside you be flattered to bits.

You might know Hong Kong for its sky high buildings, for being the financial hub of the Asian continent and being the most densely populated cities of the world. But what you might also want to know is the fact that your New Year vacay will be a great success if roaming around in hi-tech places and exploring them interests you. This city strives to make everyday life easier with a thick and widespread network of public transportation like trains, buses, trams and ferries. In addition, smart identity cards and fingerprint scanners allow residents to hop straight through customs. To impress you further, it boasts the fastest internet speeds in Asia and also the greatest smartphone penetration (and app use) in the world.
