A Bold Blend

We find out why this family picked E&A Interiors to pull together their Bukit Timah home.

A Bold Blend
The last two years have seen much change for the Taylor family. Relocating from New York, where they lived for ten years, they settled into this expansive house in Bukit Timah in August 2015, eldest son Aodhan started Tanglin Trust School, and they employed the services of an interior designer to transform their new home, bringing in new pieces to work with their current collection. Yet, in the blink of an eye (or at least just after I interview Nicole), they have relocated to New York again. Luckily, I had time to chat with her about why they chose this property as their Singapore home and how E&A Interiors’ Chlöe Elkerton transformed the house.

Both Nicole and Lindsay left their home country, Australia, 15 years ago, originally for New York, before a short stint in Iowa, then a couple of years in London. They had just bought a house in London and begun renovations when Lindsay was offered a job back in New York. “I was looking around the dusty kitchen, with walls gone and workmen constantly asking for tea, and thought, yes, why not,” says Nicole.

Renting the London house out, and arriving in New York just after the financial crash, they managed to find a couple of decent property deals, and bought an apartment in the city, and a lake house just outside. With a background in architecture and design, Nicole had first hand in buying for, designing and styling the properties.
