The “Live In” Dilemma
Delhiites Lifestyle Magazine|September 2019
Like it or not, a relationship is full of steps. Time and again, we have to consider ‘what’s next’. Climbing up the ladder of our relationship has led many of us to consider moving in with our better halves. While considering that big move, it is necessary to weigh the pros and cons of living-in with someone who maybe like family to us but is bound to us neither by blood nor marital ties:
The “Live In” Dilemma

Share, Care & Learn To Bear

Moving in with your partner involves more than just living under the same roof and splitting the bills. You practically share your entire life with each other, from your deep-rooted problems to your bathroom sink. You learn to be more sensitive toward each other’s needs and make individual decisions keeping the other in mind. With the help of oodles of love and understanding, you also make peace with stuffthat would earlier drive you up the wall. In the process, you grow as a person and understand a thing or two about selflessness.

Discover And Decide

While living with some one, you find out things about them that you couldn’t have even if you dated for donkey’s years. The good and the bad habits, routine, temper, likes and dislikes, mood swings: all become abundantly evident once you are sharing the roof with your partner. This transparency helps decide whether or not you can accept each other whole heartedly, complete with the grossness and the awesomeness you both bring to the table.

The Death Of Dates

Remember the time when every evening used to be date night?’: you will probably end up saying this to your partner once you start living-in as going on dates will become a thing of the past. A lot of effort is required to keep the excitement alive when you decide to take the ‘next step’.
