Want a sneak peek inside the male brain? This cool bunch of boys spill the beans on the art of hitting on women... over some cocktails, of course!
Ever called a friend to discuss the best way to flirt with that cute guy? Of course you have. Turns out, guys have a ‘seduction style’, too. They plan, strategise, and think of ways to impress you (and sometimes, just ‘go with the flow’). So what are these ‘ways’, you ask? We were curious, too, so we asked a bunch of boys to join us for drinks, and then grilled them on the subject. Girls, here’s how the modern male approaches, plays, and seals the deal...
What’s your standard flirting strategy?
Shuchir: “I think more than a strategy, it’s about analyzing the moment. A girl gives out a ‘vibe’—I can’t quite explain it—and that tells you whether she wants to be approached or not. If she seems interested, I’d go chat her up. It’s all in the first minute...you’ll know in those 60 seconds if she’s someone you can hold a conversation with or not.”
Aftab: “The trick lies in balance. There is a fine line between being flirtatious and coming across as too aggressive—if you try too hard, you’ll push her away. Whatever your ‘strategy’ might be, you just have to be confident about being accepted or rejected.”
Arjun: “I agree, you just have to be yourself, otherwise you won’t be able to tell if you’re compatible with someone or not. There is this vibe, a natural instinct everyone has. And if you’re smart enough, you’ll know where to steer the conversation.”
So do you focus on being funny or cool? What do you say when you approach a girl?
