Three Wishes
Cornwall Life|December 2019
Almost a third of Cornwall sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – so what three Christmas wishes would save it for future generations?
Three Wishes

Every year we ask the question: ‘Where did this year go?’ 2019 was incredibly busy for the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We celebrated the 60th anniversary of the first designation of the Cornwall AONB in 1959. The highlight of our year had to be the visit of HRH The Duke of Cornwall to Boscastle in July to acknowledge our very special Anniversary. His Royal Highness was given a demonstration of Cornish Hedging as part of the Kerdroya project being delivered by Golden Tree Productions in celebration of 60 years of the Cornwall AONB.

How could we follow that? You may ask - we did it with our amazing Diamond Landscapes Conference at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge in November with the theme ‘Diamond Landscapes - What does the future hold and what will be our vision for the next 10 years?’. This involved a bit of crystal ball gazing, for who knows where we will be in 10 years’ time? It certainly involves some guess work and if the next ten years pass as quickly as the last, 2030 will soon be upon us.
