GOING DUTCH

As the proud owner of a David Thomas Dutch barge style narrowboat, reader Phillip Kent contacted Canal Boat with a view to forming an owners’ club, perhaps in Braunston where the builder was based. And love them he does...

SERRENSTOF (STARDUST)

The first time I saw Sterrenstof, above, Yan Vander Hmmm as she was then, Iknew that was the boat for me. John March the previous owner loved his boat and he had spec’ed it to the hilt. All electric, remote controlled and a 20mm base plate. He intended for her to go across the channel and got her ready for it. Sadly, ill health stopped him doing so. But that is where me and my wife Charlie will take up the mantle.
