I’ve always been fascinated by the nude male body. One of the first projects that I did was create male genitalia using organic materials. When you look at those images, the organic objects were homologous to the part of the male reproductive anatomy. This technique opened up ideas to include other body parts. There was also this other instance where I used thousands of dried leaves to cover my sister. While I took the picture, I saw her eyes staring back at me, and I thought to myself that I could create a face based entirely out of organic material.
