Following the launch of their flagship phone, the 8 Pro, OnePlus has revealed a new iteration in this series, the 8T. The ‘T’ series was first announced in 2016, with the launch of the 3T. Like the other ‘T’ series models, the 8T comes with a few tweaks in its design and specifications.
Inside Out It features a rear quad camera setup—a 48MP f/1.7 Sony IMX586 camera (EIS and OIS), a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome lens. The camera module has been shifted from the centre to the left. The 8 Pro includes the Sony IMX689 sensor, which is superior to 8T’s Sony IMX586. The resolution of the ultra-wide-angle lens has also been dropped from 48MP to 16MP, but it gains a macro lens. The 8T has a Multi Autofocus (PDAF+CAF) and dual-LED flash.
The rear camera has similar features such as Panorama, Super Macro, Nightscape, Timelapse, Portrait, Slow Motion, Video, UltraShot HDR, and a Pro mode. To use the monochrome lens, you have to tap on filters feature, and choose the ‘Mono’ option. This lens only functions in the Photo mode.
It records 4K and 1080p videos at 30fps/60fps and 21:9 aspect ratio clips. The Super Slow Motion mode can record 1080p and 720p footage at 240fps and 480fp. The camera shoots 1080p clip and 4K footage at 30fps in the Time-lapse mode. The Video mode includes a Night mode, a Super Stable mode, and a Video Portrait mode.
