Revisiting Pavilion KL Mall
BaziChic Feng Shui & Chinese Astrology|September 2018

It has been four years since I last wrote about Pavilion KL (refer to page 45, March 2014 Issue), one of the main malls in Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Bintang area. After dropping by ABC Café at Pavilion KL, my interest in the Feng Shui of this mall was piqued again. The sky bridge linking Jalan Raja Chulan to the mall is curved as it approaches the mall preventing Sha Qi from building up, which is what happens with a straight bridge.

Revisiting Pavilion KL Mall

The sky bridge is linked to an open part of the mall that houses many restaurants. This area, which mimics a pedestrian street is called Connection, and is separated from the main mall. On the upper levels, it is connected to the main mall via a number of bridges, where it houses even more eateries, a cinema and a karaoke lounge. In November 2016, this area was extended even further with an additional new wing called Pavilion Elite.Across the road from Pavilion KL, Fahrenheit 88 houses the first UNIQLO retail outlet in Malaysia. This outlet has what most people would consider a Feng Shui no-no, a main door that is at a higher level than the sidewalk. You may think that the Qi will flow out from the raised entrance of this UNIQLO outlet, since you need to walk up some stairs to enter the store. However, the main entrance is cleverly tapping the Qi coming from the straight stretch of “street” formed by Connection, Pavilion Elite and the Bukit Bintang area. The entrance is at about the same level as Pavilion KL’s street on the other side of the road.
