Come Rain Or Shine

Founded 97 years ago, Loro Piana has strived to build a reputation for luxury cashmere and wool products, eventually setting the benchmark for fine yarns and fabrics. As a result of its tireless investment in raw materials, production, and technical innovation, it has provided answers to some of fashion’s most pertinent problems – such as what happens to your suit should you get caught in unexpected showers.

For a time, most traditional suit fabrics didn’t get along with precipitation. If you were wearing a linen suit and got caught in a downpour, you would likely be wearing that suit for the very last time. In general, most suits aren’t specifically designed to resist water, and given the tropical climate of equatorial Singapore, it would not be uncommon that a suit-lover would find himself in the rain.

Through constant research and a pioneering spirit, the fabric maker and nascent haberdasher has developed specific treatments to enhance the performance of fabrics in challenging climate conditions such as ours.
