మన దేశానికి చెందిన అండమాన్, నికోబార్ దీవులు, సుమత్ర, బోర్నియో ద్వీపాల్లోనూ, బర్మా, మలేషియా, థాయ్ లాండ్, వియత్నాం, కాంబోడియా, ఫిలిప్పీన్స్ మొదలైన మరికొన్ని చోట్ల ‘స్విఫ్ట్స్లెట్'(ఎరోడ్రా మస్ ఫ్యూసి ఫేగస్) అనే చిన్న పక్షులున్నాయి. వీటి బరువు 15 నుంచి 18 గ్రాములు, పొడవు 11 నుంచి 15 సెంటీమీటర్లు మాత్రమే ఉంటాయి.
ఇవి కొండగుహల్లో ఎక్కువగా నివాసముంటాయి. గాలిలో ఎగురుతూ వచ్చి రెక్కల మధ్య చిక్కుకున్న చిన్న చిన్న పురుగుల్ని తింటాయి.

పండుగలన్నిటిలోకి పెద్ద పండుగగా సంక్రాంతిని జరుపుకోవడం అనాదిగా వస్తున్న మన హైందవ సంప్రదాయం. ధనుర్మాసం ప్రారంభం అయినప్పటినుండి- అంటే నెలరోజుల ముందునుండీ తెలుగువారి లోగిళ్లలో సంక్రాంతి సంబరం మొదలవుతుంది. తూరుపు తెలతెలవారక ముందే ముంగిళ్లలో ముగ్గులు అందంగా వేసి, గొబ్బిళ్లను పసుపు కుంకుమలతో అలంకరించి వాటిల్లో పెట్టడంతో రోజు ప్రారంభమౌతుంది.
2020 ఎలా ఉంటుంది?
2020 కొత్త సంవత్సరం అడుగుపెట్టే సందర్భంలో జార్ఖండ్ రాష్ట్రఎన్నికల ఫలితాల దృష్ట్యా పరిశీలిస్తే, భారత రాజకీయ ముఖచిత్రం కొత్తమలుపు తిరుగుతున్నట్టు స్పష్టమవుతోంది. భారత ప్రజాస్వామ్యం 70 ఏళ్లుపై బడిన ప్రస్థానంలో రాష్ట్రాలలోను, కేంద్రంలోను అధికార, ప్రతిపక్ష రాజకీయ పార్టీల తీరుతెన్నులు కేంద్రాధికారంపై ఆధారపడే విధంగా వుండకతప్పటం లేదు.కానీ ప్రస్తుత ఎన్డీఏ, యుపిఏ కూటమిలలోని చిన్నా, పెద్దప్రాంతీయ పార్టీలు రాష్ట్రాలలో ప్రాబల్యం పెంచుకొని, బడా జాతీయ పార్టీలకు ఊపిరి సలపనివ్వటం లేదు.
