But when it comes to Christmas meals, nothing beats a cosy gathering at home where you can chat and drink till the small hours with friends and family, without the threat of being chased out come closing time. With the plethora of delivery and take-out capabilities available, serving up a delectably sumptuous Christmas feast in the comforts of home is easier than ever. Here are eight ways you can load your dinner table — just add friends!

At Italian establishment Amo, you can customise your own communal feast, with each festive bundle comprising antipasti, pasta, Christmas roast with sides, and dessert. Pick from antipasti including Artisanal Burrata with Roasted Peppers and Beluga Capers, as well as Buffalo Mozzarella with Roasted Heirloom Beetroot, Apple Balsamic and Toasted Walnut.

Tuck into pastas like Turkey and Wild Mushroom Lasagna, and Truffle Mac and Cheese Cavatelli. Roasts include Smoked Black Pig Leg and Honey Baked Duroc Ham. Add to that Burrata Campana, Medley of Beetroots and Taggiasche Olives, and you have a beautiful table of starters to serve with aperitifs. Enjoy this with a pasta complement or Hand-rolled Trofie with Smoked Scamorza Cheese and Roasted Maitake Mushrooms. Also on the menu is Bistecca, a T-bone Fiorentina steak, which is 30-days dry-aged and 200 days grain-fed. Premium Hokkaido Milk Gelato also beckons, with flavours like Binchotan Smoked Hokkaido Milk, Manjimup Black Truffle and Caribbean Coconut, plus Piedmont Hazelnut, Colombian Arabica Expresso and Lorenzini Cantaloupe.
