Your House Your Way

Everyone seems to be a home enthusiast these days. And with that enthusiasm comes a knowledge and preference for different home genres. From rustic cabins to contemporary ranches, classic farmhouses to mountain chalets, everyone has varying tastes when it comes to what type of house they’d like to build for themselves. Fortunately, if you’re in the market for a timber home, the options are endless, thanks to the timeless appeal of wood that can seamlessly blend with any aesthetic.

“From rustic to modern, wood is an incredibly versatile material that can be used to create any manner of architectural styles,” says Allen Halcomb, president of MossCreek in Knoxville, Tennessee. “Wood can be modified to an infinite variety of shapes and colors. Wood can be left raw to expose its ‘live’ edges, or it can be sawn into rectangular shapes for a domesticated look. You can stain wood to enhance its natural occurring variegated colors, or you can paint it to create solid color tones.”
