With most of us staying and working from home a lot more these days, having ample space for work and rest is a true luxury. That’s why this multi-generational family together with their domestic helper appreciates their sprawling XL-sized HDB flat unit: a combination of one 4-room unit and another 3-room flat. Having lived here for almost two decades, the middle-aged homeowners have raised their brood into fine young adults and wanted to give their 2,067sq ft jumbo flat unit a well-deserved makeover.
Commissioning the overhaul to Versaform’s design team, the married couple also wanted to update the communal spaces and bedrooms to match their current lifestyles and interests. The team reveals more about the tired-looking state of the flat when they first entered the unit. “There were a lot of carpentry works, and it weighed down the entire look.” From there, they made the executive decision to tear down most of the custom-built works and start afresh.
