Furnishings and fittings with clean, delicate outlines feature prominently in this fashionable Scandinavian-style home that emphasises simplicity and practicality
Influenced by the Scandinavian lifestyle from the male homeowner’s time spent living in Sweden, this love nest incorporates quintessential Nordic design elements like functionality and minimalism. The young couple engaged Joy Ouyang of interior design firm Eighty-two to make over this two-bedroom apartment, which resulted in a clean and functional space surrounded by nature parks.
1 LIVING
Not fans of white walls, the homeowners of this 732-square foot space requested for Joy to clad their home surfaces in a soothing green hue. To emphasise the apartment’s 3.3 metre-high ceilings, the interior designer suggested painting it fully black, firstly as a means to conceal unsightly wires and trunking, and secondly to provide the space with some depth. As the male homeowner is an avid cyclist, Joy encouraged him to display his bicycles proudly on the main living room wall, which gives the space an added personal touch.
