As it had a stunning position and practical layout, all this Cape Town house needed was a fresh new look
After 13 years of spending every December holiday in Cape Town, Laurence and Lauren Haskel decided to leave Jo’burg and move to Cape Town permanently. “Initially we weren’t sure that this was the right move, so we decided to first rent a house. But after a year, there were no doubts whatsoever – the beauty of this city had totally captured our hearts,” recall the Haskels.
Plenty of space was high on their list of requirements in their search for a new family home. The Haskels enjoy entertaining and wanted to be able to accommodate guests with ease. But they also wanted cosy, comfortable spaces where they could spend time with their boys. “A holiday atmosphere was another essential and for us this meant living close to the sea,” says Lauren.
