Splash Of Colour

If there is one thing that can instantly brighten up any space, it has to be the colours! And yes, if colours are used intelligently, they can alter any space. Mumbai-based architects Beyond Design have extensively used colours for Globant’s corporate office in Hinjewadi, Pune.

Spread over a carpet area of 75,000 sq. ft., this office space is vibrant and exudes an effervescent energy. The architect team led by Alhad Gore and ably supported by Ajay Tonpe and Gopal Ade have designed this office space keeping in mind the client needs with a generous splash of colours that exudes a charm like no other. Little wonder then that this project has won the SBID International Design Awards 2016 in the category of Office Space Design!

The design inspiration for this office was nature. “Since the organisation works in a very collaborative way, the theme was then woven with elements, which support co-working. The design style adapted was modern, yet with a theme of nature interwoven. So right from the moss in the reception, to the ‘walk in the woods’ towards the cafeteria or the ‘learning tree’ collaborative spaces to the acrylic birds on the ceiling to the grass floor in café, every space has a touch of this theme,” explains Architect Alhad Gore. The office is spread across two floors with almost 40,000 sq.ft.of carpet area on each level. With 1,200 seating options and 120° workstations, the space could have been cluttered and hard to navigate, so the architects divided the entire office in four quadrants each of which has a steel pipe running on the periphery as a path guide. Further, four of these main passages directly lead to the fire exit door, which ensures ergonomics are balanced with safety needs of the employees.
