Paving the Way

Your driveway is the first architectural element people see when they visit your home, says the team at Bosun. “It’s what sets your home apart from the neighbourhood, so it’s important to choose paving that is not only functional, but also complements or enhances the style of your home.”

With so many paving options, the SmartStone team advises careful consideration of the design of your home. If you want to reflect an on-trend design style, opt for paving in neutral grey colours with a simple texture, and install this in “clean line” patterns. For a more traditional style, use earthy coloured paving with a more patterned texture. This can be installed in a mixture of sizes to create a country feel, says SmartStone’s team.

ON-TREND

Grey and charcoal pavers are currently popular, says SmartStone. “Straight lines, subtle textures and concrete-look pavers are trendy at the moment.”

Bosun is one of a few suppliers that have started manufacturing pavers that derive their colours from natural stone rather than oxides. Pavers with a thin oxide coloured paste on the surface fade over time, exposing the grey stones inside the concrete. The new pavers have permanent colour contrasts that are fade-resistant.
