A retirement home may conjure up many associations, but very few will possess this incredible wow factor. This generous home in KwaZulu-Natal ticks more than the average box.

The owner managed the building process himself, with the help of an architect and an interior designer. This intricate build took 18 months to complete, with the owner being present every step of the way.

The goal was to build a home large enough to accommodate the owners’ extensive family. “We wanted to have enough space to have family functions with our 18 children and grandchildren combined,” says the owner.

The owners chose a security estate because of the safety appeal as well as the facilities. “I enjoy playing golf and there is beautiful wildlife in the surrounding areas, including exotic birds, buck and Zebra,” the owner says.
