The Inspired Artisan

Sometimes the best things are discovered by accident, as with the story of Fiona Tham, creative brainchild behind 2by2 store. The company was founded purely by serendipity – only after she realised she had the flair for tinkering. After merely four years in the industry, her portfolio of projects has expanded enormously. Let’s hear her story.

The Inspired Artisan

Hi Fiona. You chanced upon the craft when you were tinkering with lighting. Where did you go from there?

I started 2by2 store small. We were just selling vintage accessories, pipe lamps, and modified works casually at weekend flea markets and through the different social media platforms. It came as a surprise when customers started requesting for custom made items and the refurbishment of old lightings for their home. This is why many have established us as a custom studio.

What were you doing prior to this?

I was a television and print producer. In the world of broadcasting, you are expected to think out of the box and achieve the impossible. This way of thinking inspired me to come up with fresh ideas as well as encouraged me to craft original and innovative creations.
