The brief given to Quirc Interior Design was to make this three-bedroom showhouse a show stopper with a high-end modern look. It is part of a new housing development by Lagan Homes in Straffan. By designing the interiors to be tactile and inviting, using layers of textures and detailed braids, vibrant splashes of colour and bespoke made furniture, they created a unique interior that stands out from the crowd. ‘There is a lot of repetition in showhouses, they tend to be similar in style. We wanted the design to be unique, fresh and contemporary with an elegant touch which we artfully introduced with the use of gold, brass and rich walnut finishes in both the lighting and the furniture,’ explains Catherine of Quirc Interior Design.
The overall palette is neutral creating a harmonious and balanced flow between the spaces, this is cleverly offset with choice pieces of furniture and fabrics. In the main living space the team created a unique feature with a bespoke made TV unit with wall panelling, this was designed by them and made up by Cawley’s Furniture and finished in a Zoffany paint Double Silver. ‘We created a focal point, in lieu of the fireplace, as the sofa placement is off-centre we were able to offset the TV unit allowing the TV to sit directly opposite the sofa.
