When the owners of this property contacted Interior 360, they knew exactly what they wanted.‘The brief was clear,’ designer Paul Mason explains. ‘Our clients requested clean lines, no fuss and clever storage. Overall the theme was warm but not clinical and it was important that the architectural integrity of the property was respected, both inside and out. The owners wanted a sense of bringing the outdoors in therefore it was crucial that the kitchen reflected some element of the exterior. Fortunately, the space available was ideal for the owner’s preferred kitchen layout.’
How did he go about bringing the vision to reality? ‘The exterior cladding was a mix of aluminium, render and cedar panels. To ensure the inside reflected this beautiful façade, we decided to use Next125 Old Oak veneer doors which have a random pattern and a lovely distressed appearance. It was a good choice because the tones of the wood matched the exterior panels perfectly.’
Fashions come and go but the kitchen island is always on-trend. In this project, a kitchen island produced in Neolith Iron Copper, complemented the countertops beautifully but also posed more of a challenge.
