Suhani Lal Sanghra, Principal Architect, Sparc Design, Pune, designs her studio incorporating basic architectural principles and materials.

Back To The Basics

I think architects always dream of creating a space they can truly call their own. They look forward to having a space that does not have to impress a client, but one where they can enjoy spending hours working on their own creative expressions’, says Suhani Lal Sanghra, Principal Architect, Sparc Design, Pune. She effusively shares this sentiment as she speaks of her 2000 sq ft architectural studio, at Lullanagar, Pune, that was designed to her requirements and aesthetics.

Thoughts Become Things

After seven years in a small space that had limited natural light and ventilation, Suhani was craving for a spacious office of her own with ample natural light and ventilation.

‘This space was the second site I saw. It was love at first sight as it had openings and windows on two complete sides’, she says of the office that has ceiling to floor glass panels on two sides and windows on the third, ample sunlight and breeze. In addition, being located on the sixth floor, the space also offers panoramic vistas of the city as well as views of tree canopies.

With the space decided on instantly, Suhani and her team started working on its plan and design. Suhani wanted the studio to have a creative work environment with an innovative use of design principles, a sense of openness and transparency, green breakout spaces and ample storage areas that blended with the design.
