As important as your sanitaryware are the decisions you make for your bathroom’s walls and flooring. Though tile paint does exist, it’s not an easy task to change up the look of your bathroom walls or floor. Given the permanency of tiles, it’s worth having a think before you begin to decorate and make sure you’ve considered all your options.
A big trend for 2020 has been playing with the placement of tiles. For example, an angled layout rather than the standard straight up and down has featured prominently this year. Earthy tones and neutral colours continue to be popular, but we’re seeing splashes of colour as folk get braver with their interiors. Blue works in the bathroom, but why not update the look with an unusual blue marble, or a textured finish like these Sequel tiles (right).
For your information
“Wall and floor tiles shouldn’t necessarily match. An easy way to add some variety into the scheme is to use the same tone of tile on both surfaces in different sizes or finishes. Even a strip of polished tiles or mosaics in the same range and colour as the rest of the space can create an interesting feature.
