Get to know the cool new duo whose art is making a mark

Stephanie Russo
Martinich & Carran

When we first came across Rowena Martinich’s and Geoffrey Carran’s work, we were completely awestruck. Their designs, which include large-scale artworks and two diverse practices of vibrant Abstract Expressionism and Representational painting, are unlike anything we’ve seen before — so we had to know more.

“Martinich&Carran really started with a painting,” says Geoffrey. “It was a collaboration between us while we were doing a studio residency and exhibition, ‘Fluoresce’, that Rowena curated at the National Gallery of Victoria in 2012,” he says. “From this point, we began to explore other applications of our two distinct styles and developed a range of products for our online store.”
