Welcome to the Swiss Alps, here in Chattarpur, New Delhi. You don’t need a passport to get to this chalet, and that was the precise requirement of the client. Says Sanjyt Syngh, the award-winning powerhouse, “As they lived in South Delhi, my clients wanted a family weekend home. The intention was that this 2.5 acre farmhouse should be their home, away from home. The idea was to convert this pre-built structure into an urban Swiss Chalet”.
Sanjyt’s approach to the planning of the interiors of this 5,000sqft chalet, was to exaggerate, and thereby enhance, the typical element that maketh a chalet — wood. Sanjyt has championed this material, outside and in.
