Router Table Excellence
Good Woodworking|May 2017

Catering for both the craftsman and woodworking enthusiast, this excellent router table from Trend benefits from a solid construction and lends itself to a wide range of projects.

Router Table Excellence

It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at a small router table and despite this one being in the Trend range for an age, it somehow passed me by, but now I’ve discovered it I’m a convert!

Thinking back to the tables I looked at years ago, the smaller ones available all seemed to be trying to provide as many features as possible, and making a decent fist of it in some areas, with some not so good in other respects. Trend’s drawing board is obviously a good one as they’ve worked hard in coming up with this, the CRT/MK3, concentrating on what makes a good table without the additional padding.

Fits other models

Although primarily designed for Trend’s own dedicated table model T11 router, you can fit other makes, although you will need to re-drill the insert plate. Any router that follows the same Trend base configuration, however, such as the DeWalt DW625, will be a direct fit.

The plate itself is first rate: made from 6.35mm aluminium it supports the router without deflection and without losing too much from the plunge, which ensures the cutter projections aren’t compromised.
