Finula the fearless is head of security and her owners’ best friend at Finnegan’s Farm, West.
Four years ago, my husband, Bill, and I bought 20 acres of land in Connecticut where we built a home and farm. A month after we moved into our farmhouse, a tricolor Australian shepherd came into our lives. Her name, Finula—Finn for short—came from a suggestion by my mother, Mary. And because Mom grew up in Ireland on Finnegan’s Farm in Liskea, County Galway, we’ve named our homestead Finnegan’s Farm, West.

Keri Blakinger Is a Figure Skater and a Felon
KERI BLAKINGER IS many things: a former elite figure skater, an Ivy League graduate, a prolific criminal-justice journalist, a convicted felon. The Texas-based writer recently published Corrections in Ink (St. Martin’s Press), a memoir that strings these seemingly disparate lives—from her near-Olympic rise to her drug addiction to her two-year prison stint to her Cornell graduation—into one very compelling narrative about redemption, second chances, and what you’re probably getting wrong about the legal system.

Billy Idol – "I was a proper 80s rock star"
With pin-up good looks and a refusal to toe the Year Zero party line, Billy Idol was dismissed by the music press as a major-label plastic punk. Yet 45 years on from his recording debut with Generation X, his music has survived to tell a very different story, one of masterful songwriting and unashamed showmanship. Here, the ace face of the late 70s charts his transition to leather-clad staple of 80s MTV on the back of hits such as White Wedding, Eyes Without A Face and Rebel Yell, and confirms his aversion to stasis. "You can't always stay in your comfort zone, it's boring," he tells Lois Wilson.
