My living room is a combination of natural woods, whites and creamy beiges. I love overflowing the sofa with warm blankets, pillows, and candles in glass jars. I feel as if it brings that cozy, whimsical cottage vibe that I love so much.
The hall/entryway is both inviting and dramatic, with contrasting finishes (most notable, the black-and-white Harley Quinn floor and opposing natural wood floor), white, character-inspiring board-and-batten walls, a trio of crystal chandeliers, antique picture frames, and a cozy sheepskin rug.
Theoretically, if a cottage lacks coziness, you can't very well call it a cottage,” can you?
New Hartford, Connecticut's Ambyr Domonell believes so, and we think her warm-and-fuzzy vibe fits the core of cottage credentials to a T! Ambyr's love affair with decorating started at an early age. Recreating her girlhood room and painting her bedroom furniture seeded her ambitions for interior design, thrifting, and refinishing antiques.
I have been doing DIY projects for as long as I can remember, Ambyr explained. I would redecorate my room again and again as a young girl.
A wife and stay-at-home mom, Ambyr ventured into social media, particularly Instagram, to share her admiration for cottage living-and she scored big, with an impressive 27K followers in just a few short years.
