Design a space that fills you with delight whenever you come home.

Color Me Happy

Stockholm, Sweden, resident Sebastian Bergström loves color; the more intense the hue, the better. This makes perfect sense with only five and a half hours of daylight in the depths of Swedish winters, and vibrant, bright colors are said to promote a cheerful mood. “Everyone is affected by color,” says Sebastian. “I wanted to design a space that made me happy whenever I come home. Colorful, energetic and maximalist more than minimalism is my style. Red, yellow, orange, blue and grass greens are colors that lift my mood.”

Kitchen- Sebastian made the most of his snug little apartment, and the kitchen (or lack thereof) was his biggest challenge. Sebastian explains, “When I purchased the flat, there was no kitchen. So I created a kitchen from scratch by splitting up the bedroom to make room for a kitchen. I chose to have the refrigerator built into the hallway area and the sink positioned straight to the wall to achieve a larger cook area. A wall-to-wall window was installed for added light and gives the feeling of openness.”
