Edwina Withers of BoffiStudio knows listening up and matching clients’ ideas with her own experience is key in fostering bold design solutions.
WHAT HAS INFORMED AND INSPIRED YOUR DESIGN AESTHETIC?
My passion for design came naturally from a young age. I have drawn inspiration from travelling, different cultures and art. Collaborations with architects, clients and industry luminaries have influenced my aesthetic. In recent years, my connections with designers who work for the Boffi collection have shaped my philosophy. I consider myself a purist. Also influential has been my experience in multi-disciplined design firms, such as my previous business, Pike Withers. I have worked on residential, hospitality and commercial interiors which have given me well-rounded experience and, I would say, a holistic approach.
IS THERE A COMMON ELEMENT OR APPROACH THAT RUNS THROUGH ALL ASPECTS OF YOUR WORK?
The site drives my approach as much as listening to the clients’ needs and understanding their personality. I always try to be flexible with my aesthetic to work with the vision of the space that the clients have. I don’t like to offer a standard solution but to create something unique that reflects their style.
