On Sydney’s Northern Beaches, a nondescript 1970s cottage has been transformed into a dream holiday haven enjoyed by three generations of one family.
Every January, John and Margaret Ingram’s family – all 17 of them – holiday together. It’s an event the whole family looks forward to, so buying a weekender they could share seemed like a natural step.
As luck would have it, John and Margaret’s three children are quite familiar with the real-estate business: Leanne is an interior designer and proprietor of Ampersand Interiors, Paul is the owner of a construction business and Katie has worked as a property valuer.
In 2010, Katie spotted this home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for sale. “We all live in Sydney so our combined family holidays have always been somewhere on the NSW coast,” says Leanne. “When Katie found this house, she, Paul and I joined forces to convince Mum and Dad of the benefits of holidaying just 40 minutes from home.”
